Honor The Holy Spirit

Friend, praise the LORD! May God’s presence be revealed to you this season and may you have glorious encounters in the Holy Spirit in Jesus Mighty name, Amen. I continue to thank the Lord who continues to prove Himself faithful to my wife and I. We bless Him each day and are forever grateful for His love and guidance that never fails.

This month let us set it aside as A Month to Honor The Holy Spirit.

I enjoy singing this song; take time, sing it and just welcome Him…

Come, Holy Spirit, I need You,
Come, Sweet Spirit, I pray,
Come, in Your strength and Your power,
Come, in Your own gentle way.

In John 14:26, we read “But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.” (Amplified Bible)

I love reading this verse in the amplified Bible because it reveals much of the office of the Holy Spirit by giving us some of the names of the Holy Spirit.

HE is a Person

This month, dedicate a good amount of time to meditate on the Person of the Holy Spirit. He loves company and He is seeking those that are seeking Him.

Friend, many people have misconceptions about The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not a force, He is not a bird/dove, He is not fire, He is not a ghost; HE is a Person and my prayer is that this month, God the Holy Spirit will reveal Himself to you as you thirst for more of HIM, more of His presence, more of His wisdom, more of His revelations.

Jesus said in John 16:7 that it was advantageous for Him to go since He was going to send us the Holy Spirit. An encounter with the Holy Spirit will change us totally. Let us embrace Him.

Friend, I encourage you to take a look at the Names mentioned in the scripture above and meditate on each one. Let us examine two of them:-

The Comforter

Do not run to any person for comfort because The Comforter Himself desires to comfort you in whatever the situation you are going through and for which you need comforting. He is a seasoned comforter because that is His nature. Are you bereaved? Are you in pain? Are you jobless? Are you in agony in prayer? If so, HE is only a whisper away…just tell HIM…Comforter, I need you to come and comfort me; HE never fails and will come to you faster than you think. This month, you shall experience The Comforter like never before in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Friend, I also want you to remember that God calls Himself the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1: 3-4).

The Advocate

Another name of the Holy Spirit that is mentioned in the verse above is Advocate. Should any problem arise this month…you will not have to speak because The Advocate will stand for you and defend you. He has never lost a case so you can be sure that you will be well represented. He will intercede for you and will search the heart of God (The Judge) and speak for you. When you are weak and despondent, He will strengthen you and for sure, He will stand by you all the way and give you the victory. He is a Friend that sticks closer than a brother…Trust Him, He is The Spirit of Truth.

Conclusion

Acts 1:8 declares… “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…”  In other words, this month as you honor the Holy Spirit, you will step into the realm of power and joy that you have never experienced before.

Friend, I pray that as you honor the Holy Spirit this season, He will pour His fire, His favor, His peace and His power upon you and you will never be the same again.  You will become a firebrand for the Lord. May God grant you peace all around in Jesus Mighty name, Amen

Have a Spirit-filled Month as you honor The Person of The Holy Spirit in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Blessings,

Pastor Chester
