WHAT ARE YOU IN NEED OF?

Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” Throwing his cloak aside he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said “Rabbi, I want to see.” Go", said Jesus, "your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. (Mark 10:49:52)

Jesus and His disciples had been in Jericho and were now leaving the city followed by a crowd of people. The noise of the crowd caught the attention of a blind man, a beggar, by the name of Bartimaeus. As soon he realized who was passing by, blind Bartimaeus began to shout at the top of his voice, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” The Bible says when the people tried to stop him, he shouted all the more. Jesus heard him and asked him to come. When Bartimaeus got to where Jesus was, the Lord asked him one question “What do you want me to do for you?”

Friend, blind Bartimaeus had a problem, he was blind and he knew that only one person had the solution to that problem so he went to the Problem-solver, cried out for help and he received his sight. He was not ashamed to admit that he had a problem. He did not care what anyone thought. Most importantly, he did not allow anyone to stop him from receiving his miracle. Friend, let nothing hinder you from receiving from the Master. Do not be ashamed of whatever your situation and need is, don’t worry about what people say and certainly do not allow anyone stop you. Remember that the Jesus who asked blind Bartimaeus that question is the same and He is still asking the question, “What do you want me to do for you?

The Bible says “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks the door will be opened (Matthew 7:7-8). Jesus is saying to you today, “You may ask me for anything in my name and I will do it for you.” (John 14:14).

Friend, are you in need of anything? Have you asked Jesus? If you have not asked Him, why not do so today.

Prayer:

Lord, I bless you today. Thank you for your faithfulness. I thank you for your willingness to bless your people with good gifts, both physically, spiritual and materially. Lord, help me to be like blind Bartimaeus who recognized that he needed your help and got your attention. Let me always be willing to come boldly before your throne of grace and make my petitions known to you and please help me not to ask amiss but according to your will so that I may receive that which I ask in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.
