February 2005 - A Month of Covenant

Friends, isn’t it amazing how time seems to fly these days. January, 2005 is behind us and we welcome February. I trust that God has kept you well and that as He promised in January you have entered into His harvest.

My wife and I are fine. Please know that we cherish you and pray for you. We continue to declare that God’s purposes in your life will not be aborted but you will truly complete this gracious race. Amen.

God placed in my spirit that this is a Month of Covenant. Generally, a covenant is an agreement between two parties or two persons. Throughout the Bible, we see the words   “covenants”, “testaments” and “wills’ being mentioned. The culmination of all this is however found in that covenant mentioned in Hebrew chapters 7 through 10, “a more superior covenant.” In Hebrews 7:22, Paul talking about this covenant declares, “because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.”

As believers, by faith, we partake of the covenant ratified by the blood of Jesus Christ. In effect, Jesus has made us partakers of the covenant. In a covenant there is an exchange, an exchange of promises. Our part of this exchange is obedience. We are simply called to obey. May God help us as we walk in obedience to His promises. Amen.

What promises does God want us to receive? There are a number of covenants He wants us to partake of. First, He wants us to partake of the Covenant of Seeking Him (2 Chronicles 15:12). This month, ask God to renew your zeal as you seek Him. Ask God to unleash a passion for His presence. Ask the Master to make you a God chaser and like Jacob may you not give up till you have received your covenant blessing from Him. I pray that God will renew in you the spirit of a seeker and that the plans of the enemy that would want to hinder your quest for the Master will be destroyed in Jesus Powerful Name. Amen.

In Ezekiel 34:25, we encounter a Covenant of Peace. Jesus, the Prince of Peace has peace available for you. This month, purpose to cast all your burdens upon him and embrace the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. Embrace the God kind of peace. Receive His covenant of peace in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. I speak to every storm in your life that would want to come and steal the peace of God and command it to be stilled in Jesus Powerful Name, Amen.

In Numbers 18:19 we see yet another covenant. A Covenant of Salt. This is a promise of preservation, a promise of protection. I pray that the Lord will make you embrace every facet of this promise of preservation. I speak preservation of your household. I pray for preservation of your faith. I speak a preservation of your wealth and your health. I speak a preservation of your testimony in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Receive the Covenant of Salt.

In Exodus 24:9-11, after the execution of the Mt. Sinai Covenant, the Bible declares something wonderful. It says, “Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.” In other words, this Mt. Sinai Covenant culminated in a Covenant of Fellowship. This month, I pray that God will cause you to enter into deep fellowship with Him and may He sweeten this fellowship like never before in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Lastly, the Covenant of Jesus Christ is based on better promises. We find some of the promises of this covenant in Revelation 5:11-12.  “And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” This month, I pray that every covenant promise from the Master shall come your way in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. I speak uncommon wisdom, the God-kind of wisdom to come your way in Jesus Great Name, Amen. I speak supernatural power to follow your ministry, your prayer life and decree that signs and wonders shall follow you in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. I speak uncommon wealth to come your way, creative ideas from the throne room above; dreams, visions and the joy of the Lord, which is your strength. Amen and Amen.

Have a blessed month and may you walk in the covenant promises of God.

Be blessed,

Bro Chester
