“GOD GIVEN ASSIGNMENT”
“Then the Lord reached out His hand and touched my mouth and said to me, ‘Now I have put my words in your mouth. See today, I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.” (Jeremiah 1:9-10 NIV)
The Old Testament is a mirror of what we New Testament Believers are. The lessons, the directives are there for us to learn from. Our prayer points this month will be taken from the instructions given to the Prophet Jeremiah.
1. Uproot:
The Bible tells us to be deeply rooted in love. Therefore, we are to uproot every spirit that would want to divide the Body of Christ:
- hatred;
- divisions;
- disunity;
- racial segregation;
- religious pride; and
- weeds of gossip.
2. Tear down:
The Bible says that the walls of Jericho fell down when the trumpet was sounded and the people shouted. Let us tear down every wall that has been erected by the devil to keep God’s people from reaching our full potential:
- walls of drug addiction;
- walls of sickness;
- walls of segregation; and
- walls of untimely death.
3. Destroy:
Something that is broken can be fixed again but that which is destroyed has no possibility of reconstruction. Like Jesus, let us deal with the root cause. Let us curse, put an utter end to the sources of the veil we see in our society today. Let us ask God for discernment to be able to pray strategically. Let us ask that our eyes be opened so we can see the ruling territorial forces and destroy them by the power from on high in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.
4. Overthrow:
. Let us ask for an overthrow of the ruling ruling forces of darkness. When Daniel prayed, the prince Persia held the answers to Daniel’s prayers until Michael intervened. Let us ask for angelic intervention that all forces of darkness that would want to hinder our prayers will be overthrown in Jesus Mighty Name
A. To Build:
Let us ask God to help us to have an intercessory spirit so that like Ezra and Nehemiah we shall be able to stand in the gap and rebuild the broken lives by the help of the Holy Spirit; and
Let us ask God to raise up Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers and Evangelists that will preach the Gospel without fear of favour.
B. To Plant:
. Let us ask God to:
- sow the Word of God;
- help us so we may be faithful workers in His vineyard;
- help us sow seeds of faith;
- plant seeds of Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost that His kingdom may advance in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.
