God, Are You There?
“My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.” (Psalm 31:15-16)
Many times we find ourselves in situations and circumstances that only God can deliver us from. It could be a sickness that we ourselves are suffering from or perhaps a family member; it could be problems with a rebellious child, or a situation with the ministry, or on our jobs or a financial situation. Sometimes it reaches a point and we wonder whether it will ever end and question whether God is aware of our situation
David was not new to such situations. He had seen it all. For many years, he was pursued by Saul and found himself sleeping in caves, hiding in temples, in the enemy camp, narrowly escaped being assassinated and on one occasion he even had to pretend to be mad. But in all these instances, he never wavered. He knew the God he served and was confident that God would come to his rescue and deliver him. You see, David had developed an intimate relationship with God so much so that God even said of him, “he is a man after my own heart”.
Friend, it is not a sin to ask God “Are you there?” Sometimes God’s silence can seem like eternity. Our finite minds cannot comprehend everything that the Lord is doing for us because His timing is so different from ours. David recognized this and that is why he says, “my times are in your hand”. Friend, God knows when that which you trust Him for will be made manifest. He has an excellent plan for you. His timing is the best. Trust Him.
David was anointed to be king at a very early age but it was not till he was much older that he became king. Perhaps during those years, he may have wondered whether God make a mistake. BUT David sat on the throne in God’s time. At 100 years old, Abraham must have wondered whether he would father a child but in God’s time it came to pass. Hannah was barren and all seemed lost BUT God came at the right time and opened her womb. Even Ruth, received her miracle at God’s appointed time. My Friend, God has an appointed time for your miracle. He has not forgotten you. His Faithfulness never ceases; in fact His mercies are new each and every morning.
Entrust Him with your times and HE who created time will not only redeem time for you but He will give you the desires of your heart at the appointed time.
The Bible says that those that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. My Friend, those that are laughing at you now will be gasping, holding their mouths in amazement at what God is about to accomplish on your behalf. Reject every voice of the devil that says, “did God really say?” God is not a man that he should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Every prophetic promise that you have received, hold onto it; it will surely come to pass. God is full of mercies and lovingkindness; He will make your face shine and keep you from shame.
Prayer:
May the LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious to you: May HE lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. May He release a waiting spirit upon you in Jesus Powerful Name, Amen.
