Are you making Him known?

Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race] (Mark 16:15).

A lot of Christians believe that the great commission that Jesus gave to His disciples was for them alone and only for that time. But that is not so. Those words apply to us just as much as they applied to the disciples. We have a mandate to let others know what we know so that they too may come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Publishing the good news about Jesus Christ does not necessarily mean that we are called to stand behind pulpits and preach the Gospel. There are many ways we can let others know about Him. We can certainly testify to others of what He has done for us. We can tell other others of how he saved us, healed us delivered us, etc. By doing so we are proclaiming His goodness and His greatness and pointing others to Him. The Bible says "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; … " (Revelation 12:11).

We can also make Him known by being what He has called us to be. The Bible says that “Ye are the salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13).  Just as salt adds flavour, preserves, melts coldness, heals and preserves, we too are called to make a difference wherever we go. The Bible also says “Ye are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). In other words, we are to shine bright in this dark world so that people will see Christ in us and be drawn to Him through us. By pointing others to Christ, we are publishing the Good News of who He is.

Friend, are you making Him known?

Prayer: Lord, You have called us to make you known to all mankind. May we truly represent you. Wherever we go, cause us to point people to you. Let our actions and the words we speak, not bring your Name to shame but rather let it draw those we meet to you. Lord, on our own, we cannot do it but by your grace we can. We ask that you help us in Jesus Precious Name. Amen.
