A Month of Prayer & Fasting

Friend, we believe that you and your household have started the year well. It is our prayer that everything that God has planned for you this year will continue to unfold in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. My wife and I continue to be grateful to God for allowing us to step into the second month of 2009, A Month of Prayer & fasting.

Friend, like many others, you may have started the year with a time of prayer and fasting; that’s commendable. The Spirit of God is impressing upon me that we need to set aside time to pray and fast this month. Thus, this month to us will be A Month of Prayer and Fasting.

Fasting is really a matter of the heart and not an outward show. With this in mind, it is between you and God. You are telling Him that you want to set aside time so that you can have a close fellowship with Him. That is why this should not just be a time of fasting but of prayer (communication with God). You may wish to fast for three days, seven days, twenty one days or even a whole month. You may go for a partial fast, where you have fluids only or a dry fast. You may opt for fasting two meals a day or a meal. Whatever the combination, stick to it and use the time to intercede and ask God for a closer fellowship with Him.

Every time God called the Children of Israel to a time of consecration, He was getting ready to bless them. We read in Joshua 3:5 "Then Joshua said to the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you."" Friend, expect divine visitations and get ready to experience wonders in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. God is about to do things in your life and ministry that will make people declare that your God is indeed a Great God.

In Isaiah 58, a chapter that I would encourage you to read, God grants us a glimpse into some of the things He is going to do as you fast. In Isaiah 58:6 we read

"Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?".

Good news friend; as we fast, every band of wickedness shall be loosed in Jesus Powerful Name, Amen. Every band, tie, chain of witchcraft, sorcery, known or unknown to you, I declare it loosed off you in Jesus Powerful Name, Amen. We declare that every unknown covenants to wickedness, are cut loose now in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Every family band to wicked spirits, we cut them loose and declare you, your household and your family are loosed from wickedness in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Friend, this is a promise of the  Father to us during this time of fasting. Receive this deliverance in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

The scripture continues and says that we will be bestowed with the ability to undo heavy burdens. I do not know what heavy burden the enemy has placed on you; it may be sickness, it may be a wayward child, it may be a financial crisis, it may be depression; I have news for you. That heavy burden is being rolled off you starting now in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. The blessings of the Lord they make rich and they add no sorrow. Every burden causing you or your loved ones sorrow is not from the Father. I agree with you that as you pray and fast, those burdens are rolling off into a sea of forgetfulness never to be revived again in Jesus Powerful Name, Amen.

Isaiah continues to tell us what God will do as we fast. He says we will receive victory as we pray for those that are oppressed and we will break every yoke. Friend, there are some yokes that make you go round and round on the same spot for years without any progress. It may be that you have remained in the same position on your job for years without promotion. It may be that in your ministry you have been evangelizing yet there has been no increase in the number of your congregation. It may be a yoke of sickness that has you bound and every summer you get sick. Friend, in the Mighty Name of Jesus, every   oppression of darkness, every yoke from hell in loosed off you, your family, your ministry, your future in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Friend, remind God of these precious promises. These promises have been set forth for you and all those that you will be standing in the gap for during this time of fasting. I decree that every yoke of shame and sorrow will no longer bind you in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. I declare that the Burden-Removing, yoke destroying Power of The Living God will encompass you during this time of prayer & fasting.

Jesus wants us to cast all our cares on Him. He has promised to answer. Isaiah says God's ear is not too dull to hear, neither is His hand short to save. Let us call on Him and He will answer. God delights to hear from us. He is anxious to do good to us. Isaiah says in Isaiah 58:9 "Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer;   you shall cry, and he will say, 'Here I am.'" God is the same Yesterday, today and forevermore. He awaits our call this time.

Friend, I pray that The Almighty God will strengthen you, keep you and guide you as you fast. I declare that every weapon formed against you this time as you fast, will be destroyed and no harm will come your way. I cover everything that is yours with the precious blood of Jesus and I ask that God Himself will be a Shield, a Buckler, Your Rear-guard and a Constant companion in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. I pray that every principality and power that would want to contend with your prayers or answers to your prayers be destroyed in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. I call on Jehovah Sabaoth, the Lord of Hosts to release angels that will bind every principality and power that would arise against you in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Friend, may God give you His Wisdom and may He meet you at your point of need in Jesus Great Name, Amen.

Finally, if you can, get a friend, a family member or a Bible group to agree and fast along with you. That will be great.

Friend, "The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."

Have a blessed fast,

Bro. Chester
