You’ve Got Divine Protection “So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire, and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodes, nor was a hair of their head singed, their robes were not scorched and there was no smell of fire on them.” (Daniel 3:26b, 27 NIV). The Bible tells us that King Nebuchadnezzer of When summoned before the king, the three men maintained their stand and refused to bow before the image. They said, “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” (Daniel: 3-17, 18). Not surprisingly, the king was furious because he saw their refusal as an affront to his authority so he commanded that the fiery furnace be heated seven times hotter than normal and the three men thrown in. So hot was the furnace that the soldiers throwing the men in were killed but even after being in the furnace for a time, the Hebrew children came out unscathed (Daniel 3:27 NIV). Brothers and sisters, the enemy hates Christians because we have decided to follow Jesus and his biggest nightmare is to see God’s children standing firm. His strategy is to throw anything and everything at us to cause us to deny our God and bow to another god. He will intimidate us and try to kill us like Nebucadnezzer attempted to do with the three Hebrew children or he will try to shut us up and get us arrested like they did with Peter and John (Acts 4:18-20). He will use any means and anybody to get at us, our family, our friends, our colleagues at work or even our classmates. But God says they shall not succeed. His Word says “All man will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. By standing firm you will gain life.” (Luke 21:17-19 NIV). Hallelujah.. Friends, like the three Hebrew children, let us stand firm and gain the life that God has promised. We’ve got divine protection!! Prayer: Lord, thank you for your divine protection over your children. We thank you that we need not fear the enemy because you defeated him over two thousand years ago.
